Before I Die I Want To…

In her New Orleans neighborhood, artist and TED Fellow Candy Chang turned an abandoned house into a giant chalkboard asking a fill-in-the-blank question: “Before I die I want to ___.” Her neighbors’ answers — surprising, poignant, funny — became an unexpected mirror for the community. (What’s your answer?)

What They Really Meant with the iPhone 5 Ad

My favorite quote (@ 2:22): “Facebook is integrated right into iOS 6. So get ready to read more sh*t you don’t care about.” Made me laugh out loud. So true, so true.

Another good one: “In iPhone 5 we said, ‘f*** you to Google Maps’ and invented something called Flyover. Plus we have turn-by-turn navigation spoken by Siri. Hit it bit*h.”

John Wooden on Adversity

“Adversity is the state in which man most easily becomes acquainted with himself  being especially free of admirers then.”

– John Wooden

Warren Buffet and the Value of Keeping Your Mouth Shut…

“Tom Murphy, forty years ago, said to me one day, ‘never forget, Warren, you can tell a guy to go to hell tomorrow. You don’t give up the right. So just keep your mouth shut today and see if you feel the same way tomorrow.'” – Warren Buffet

Tennis’ One-Man Harlem Globetrotters

They call him ‘Tennis’ Greatest Entertainer.’ His name is Mansour Bahrami. He does some amazing tricks. And while some of this is surely staged, he also appears to be a pretty good tennis player as well – having reached the 1989 French Open Doubles Finals. His reverse serve is great. As are the impressions of Becker and McEnroe. And you gotta love the slow motion mimic. Really funny. Love to see him live.

Best, Cleanest Soda I’ve Ever Had

If you can find it, you gotta check out the best (and relatively healthy) soda I’ve ever tried.

Now, aside from the occasional root/birch beer I stopped drinking traditional soda a long time ago. But here and there I’ll try some of the healthy alternatives like Hansens or Izze. But both of those still have sugar in them.

Along comes Oogavé.

Very clean taste, great flavors (I love the Watermelon Cream) and, best of all, no sugar. Instead, it’s sweetened with agave nectar. Damn is it good stuff. Find it at a location near you. And then let me know what you think.
